Fashion Festival QLD's main aim is to promote our thriving fashion industry to people in QLD and the rest of the world. It is a place where people can find fashion and related businesses that are based in QLD.
It is a place for retailers, designers and businesses to connect and thrive together.
A place for promotion, support, collaboration and learning.
Fashion Festival QLD came about 4 years ago when Liz Golding realised people still talk about the past RAQ awards, (1981-2009) years after they finished. They remember the glamour and ceremony with pride.
Career highlights were made at the RAQ/NRA awards. Keri Craig Lee, Daniel Lightfoot, Anthony Leigh Dower were household names, plus many more. So Liz has been gathering support to create an online platform to promote our industry and a place where our stars are listed and celebrated. A place where designers and businesses can come for collaboration, support and mentorship.
Other industries have cohesive platforms for gathering online, but fashion in QLD has never had this. So here we are.
It is immensely positive to have a platform celebrating local statewide fashion and displaying their creations. Fashion businesses thrive with the recognition and a huge sense of community is built. The fashion, modelling, hair and makeup and event industries all get a boost.
Fashion Festival QLD creates a platform for education, celebration, support and international promotion. Fashion brands from all over the state of QLD will be eligible to subscribe with the emphasis on education, promotion, celebration, inclusivity, innovation and sustainable practices.
Our fashion students will get increased opportunities to network and learn.
Our mentoring platform will be active and very valuable to them.
Fashion Festival QLD will hold gatherings at the fashion hubs around Brisbane and QLD, lifting the foot traffic and helping promote these valuable areas.
The Co-branding opportunities are enormous!
FFQLD believes in continued inclusivity in our industry, in regards to designers, models and advertising. Our mission is to show respect, acknowledge and celebrate the First Nations people of the land on which we live and work. We wish for inclusivity of cultural, spiritual and learning of our First Nations people.
Fashion Festival QLD would like to shape the future of the QLD fashion industry and provide a springboard for designers to show their talent on the world stage. We will be a platform that communicates with overseas groups who wish to champion Australian designers and creatives.
